Good job Pratik. we should grab every opportunity we get to voice our opinion even though this TV interview was mostly on H1B visa cap and increasing the cap. Only 10 seconds or so were given to the lengthy green card process. Increasing H1B quota is not a solution for us. It would infact increase our wait times and backlog of applications. it is in the interest of Hi-tech companies to have the h1b visa quota increased so that they can get more skilled workers. However they know that once they have an H1B worker, they will have that worker for many years due to retrogression. Thus retrogression is not a BIG news story. We need to highlight the greencard quota issue and not confuse it with the H1B quota issue. I feel these are 2 different things. After watching the SJC and Senate proceedings I feel Retrogression and greencard quota issue needs more awareness and education amongst lawmakers so that it is not confused with H1B visa quota.

It is part of our media mantra. In fact this comes across so strongly that the WaPo reporter even called me back to say "see I didn't mess that up!" Unfortunately, TV stations do tend to splice together a bunch of stuff just to get a story out.
We just have to keep hammering away.

EAD expiring tomorrow 9/21/2010.Can I continue to work? My renewal is still pending. I submitted EAD renewal application on 7/22/2010. If my employer is OK with EAD renewal application, can I continue work?

Hey, there is no "hostility" (?) I don't know you. I do apologize. I just don't understand how someone with poor communication skills (not implying, my skills are the best), can work effectively in a country where the wheeling and dealing, is in English? That's all.

Obama did say that there might not be an appetite for it currently.......... However, making the bill a delicacy might bring back the appetite :D just kidding.....
Seriously, if other states follow Arizona, it becomes a pressing issue and whether Obama or Congress has the appetite or not, they have to learn to deal with it. Can't let the Arizona law go viral.
One of the biggest complaint that AZ is making is that the federal government is not addressing the border problem.........well, the federal govt has to wake up and start addressing immigration reform on the whole .......... as so many sections of the immigration system is broken.
In conclusion, the mood and environment sets the stage. We have one. Got to take advantage of it.

The best thing for them to do or what they should have done is after 140 approval, they should accept 485 and process and keep it ready for date to become current. When current , they should mail the GC that month.
I dont understand the reason of why they want to accept when current only ?
If they do not accept 485, we do H1 renewal, if they do accept 485, we do EAD renewal. But EAD renewal is easier and involves only employee and gives enough freedom. H1 does not.
So All H1 holders till July 2007 , will no longer renew H1's ?

I had applied for my I-485 in the July 2007 fiasco and i have my EAD and AP renewed every 2 /1 years. My I-140 is approved in Mar 2008.
Now i got a full time opportunity with a company and i want to know which option is best for me. I have my H1 visa valid till 2011 November and i am now in 5th year of my H1.
Shall i use H1 transfer to move to new company which offered me full time job or use EAD?
Which is safer for me? And do i need to apply AC21 or is it optional? Most of my friends are saying to not to apply for AC21.
If i use EAD and if my I-485 has any issues, what will be my status?

Also ask/inquire about whistleblower protection while filing your complaint. There should be valid reasons for lay-off but filing complaint against the employer with DOL is definitely not one among them.

Thanks NikNikon for the advice. I shoot everything from inside the arena so I can move between events to get the best position. Right know the strobes are out of my budget. Thanks MatsP also for your input. After your comments and talking with someone from Showcase here in Atlanta I feel much better :) about what I ended up with. This must be one of the toughest shooting environments you can come across. Do you think a bracket mounted flash would help any with the red eye? Also after 2200+ photos I am trying to learn to batch process pictures with photoshop. I am really please with how the unsharp mask helps the noise from the higher ISO. Any suggestions on batch processing tips to enhance sharpness, reduce noice and adjust levels & color are welcome. I have used photoshop for years in my printing trade but never learned it's full potential for use with photography. Also are any of you using Nikon's Picture Project? Particularly the D-lighting adjustment?

I had submitted I-131 document along with I-485 & 765 on 8/1 and received the receipt notices already from TSC.
I had received my EAD card on 10/10 and Biometrics is scheduled on 11/13.
I have booked my travel tickets for treveling to India on 01/04/2008.
What should I do now, to get AP (I-131) approved?

Today I received I140 RFE. I do not know whether it is serious issue or not? It states that my employer has to:
Submit evidence to establish that the petitioner (i.e my employer) had the financial ability to pay the proffered wage as of "Some Date", priority date and continues to have such ability. Such evidence must include annual US federal tax returns, or audited financial statements. You may also include additional evidence, such as profit/loss statements, bank account records, personnel records. If you employ 100 workers or more, you may submit a statement from the financial officer of the organization, establishing your ability to pay the proffered wage.
Can somebody please tell me whether it is serious issue or it happens generally? My employer said he will send all the documents next week to USCIS.
